The Dzire has been among the best sellers in the compact sedan segment. There is no change in the engine set up and it continues using the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre oil burner from the previous model. The 1.2-litre, K-Series petrol unit with 83.1bhp of top power at 6000rpm makes maximum torque of 115Nm at 4000rpm. Diesel Dzire with 1.3-litres DDiS powertrain will offer 74bhp at 4000rpm and 190Nm at 2000rpm. Both the engines will come with a standard five-speed manual gearbox and an AMT unit which will now also be offered with the petrol engine. Since the car would be based on the Dzire, it’s expected to have the same wheelbase.
